Life is good

I’ve been meaning to write this for a while, but the fear of jinxing myself or just looking smug has always stopped me in my tracks.

The truth is, my life is pretty good right now and has been for a little while so I thought it would be good to step back and take note, after all my intention of my happy place is to put thoughts like this…

I am finally enjoying my job, my work/life balance is ace, I’m going to the gym a lot more and even enjoying it - something I thought I would never say. I have a wonderful family, friends and my boyfriend is perfect and makes me very happy. So all in all a good package!

British people in general to tend to default to be a little cynical, dare I say it even whingey at times, when you get asked how your work is, most people will reply with a grumble, even if it isn’t so bad. One thing I admire about the Californians is their positivity, so what if it’s cheesy, it is good to be positive, when they wish someone to ‘have a good day’ you get the impression that genuinely mean it.

Inspired by this, when people ask me how things are, I reply honestly and with a smile, Life is good.
